Joh Ishikane is a Larchmont resident who has studied silk painting under Susan Moyer. She has embellished some of her resist-method painting on silk with rhinestones, sequins, and quilting and has incorporated them into wearable garments.
Previously Joh has displayed a series of "Face Scarves" at the Larchmont Public Library. This was a collection of painted silk scarves adorned with human faces of diverse ethnicity, as a tribute to the brotherhood of mankind.
Joh's photography also focuses on illuminating the beauty of humans, as well as the natural and manmade world around us.
