ELAN DANIEL LOUIS is an award-winning artist who is driven by a passion for self-expression through visual art. His pastel works are often noted for their unique and imaginative style and technique.  This art conveys a sense of movement, often portrayed in vivid colors. These pastel works are contrasted with his pencil and paper studies of peoples’ faces, which present striking detail. The subject of these sketches is often the dispossessed, and the pieces deliver a more serious tone. More recently, Elan has branched out to mixed media and collage, creating pieces that are playful and light-hearted. Elan is largely self-taught artist. He notes, "at the center of my art is people and the organic world. My art is about what I observe in other people and in my surroundings, yet at the same time, much of it is introverted and dreamy." His artwork is represented by several galleries in the New York area and his work, which has been featured in the New York Times, is in collections in the United States and Europe.
